She is excellent in research both qualitative and quantitative, as well as interviewing — skills that were honed in the university and when she worked for international organizations. Her undergraduate research on The Effect of Perceptual and Situational Factors on Citizen’s Communication Behaviors (towards water pollution) has even qualified for two international conferences.
Extensive Work Experience
Maecel has worked for a pioneering tech company as a Marketing and Design Specialist for almost 4 years before moving to Canada. She’s now working with Kids Brain Health Network hosted by Simon Fraser University as their Digital Communications and Design Specialist helping them craft design and commsunication campaigns for families and researchers across the country.
Multi-faceted Individual
While working for Canada’s health research network, she has been studying and just recently finished Communication Design at Emily Carr University and British Columbia Institute of Technology as the top of the class, with an average of 96/100. She also volunteers as a senior administrator and designer for the Church of Christ. In her free time, she also takes courses from Google’s UX Certification.
Lifelong Learner
Maecel earned her Bachelor’s degree in Developmentt Communication from University of the Philippines, graduating cum laude, and a UP Presidential Scholar for 3 years which honed her research skills on comm behaviors. Aside from that, she’s also a certified Google Digital Marketer and is also working towards her Certifications in CommDesign and Google’s UX Course.

She has worked with several local and international organizations as a communication researcher, planner, marketer and designer. She’s crafted UI/UX for Fortune 500 companies and conducted marketing and communication campaigns for government units and international NGOs which allows her to understand the implications of effective designs that are backed by research and tailored to the audience needs.
